Talk2theAnimals calls for photographers to enter its 1st Annual Photo Contest. Please read the following rules, terms and conditions prior to submitting your photos.

The Talk2theAnimals 1st Annual Photo Contest is open to photographers 18 years of age and older.

YOUR RIGHTS The photographer retains all rights to submitted photos -- including ownership if relevant -- other than those rights licensed in the next sentence. By entering the Talk2theAnimals 1st Annual Photo Contest, you hereby grant to Talk2theAnimals (i) a nonexclusive, worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free license to reproduce, distribute, publicly display and publicly perform the photographs you submit to Talk2theAnimals, and (ii) the right to use your name, city, state and country of residence in publicity and other publications, on and offline.

WHAT TO ENTER We are looking for striking digital photos of animals, wild and domesticated. The images can show animals in their surroundings or portraits.

Do not include photos taken with a phone, images of captive animals, animals that have been abused, or are being harassed. Do not include people in the photos or previously published material.

All photographs must reflect the topic as it appeared. Those which are digitally changed beyond standard optimization (removal of dust, cropping, reasonable adjustments to exposure, color and contrast, etc.) will be ineligible. Multiple exposures that have been combined to produce a single "High Dynamic Range" image are acceptable.

Photo captions must accompany all submissions, and incorporate the subject, the location where the image was taken, and the name of the photographer(s).

All photographs will be credited with the caption "© Person's Name." Talk2theAnimals has final approval of any languaging that appears on its websites with any of the photos and will not promote or endorse third-party products or services.

Once you have logged in, upload your images
If you have not already joined Talk2theAnimals group on Flickr™, click here to join.
Select up to 3 of your images to submit to the contest
Use the “Send to Group” function to add your images to Talk2theAnimals group
When you have added your photos to the group, tag them PhotoContest – T2TA09
Your photos must be submitted through Flickr™ to be considered for the contest.
Consult Flickr™ online help if you have difficulty uploading your images.


ELIGIBILITY AND JUDGING:
To ensure eligibility for the contest:

Entries must be submitted electronically
Photos must be 300 dpi
Photos must be formatted as an 8x10 or 8x12
Entries may be digital files, digital prints, color transparencies, color prints or black and white prints

The judges are a panel of professional photographers Talk2theAnimals determines winner eligibility in its sole and absolute discretion. All decisions made by the judges are final.

DEADLINES: Deadline for submitting entries is 11:59 Central Standard Time on September 30, 2009. Winners will be announced October 5, 2009.

Talk2theAnimals reserves the right to adjust any deadline(s) as the result of causes beyond its immediate control.

WINNING PHOTOS: The judging panel will select at least 24 photos to be the contest’s Finalists and Honorable Mentions. Winners will have their images printed on the Talk2theAnimals 2010 Wall Calendar, and/or the Talk2theAnimals Photo book. The Grand Prize Winner’s photo will appear on Talk2theAnimals 1st in a series of holiday ornaments. All entrants will receive a copy of the calendar. Extra copies will be available for purchase, check back after the contest is over to purchase your copy!
